    Hey Guys!
My AAO died this morning. The green power LED came up but it was only a black screen, but I fixed it. So, if it ever happens to yours, do the following:

    YOU WILL NEED:
o USB FLASH DRIVE (Doesn't have to be big because the files will be only like 10 MB
    o Another Computer
    o Internet Access

Download UnitBootin for Windows, open it an at the very top select FreeDos (Distribution) and version 1.0.
Select your USB Flash drive at the very bottom and press OK.
Download the newest BIOS and extract the files. Copy the FLASHIT.EXE and *.FD file to your flash drive.
Rename the *.FD file to ZG5IA32.FD.

Insert the battery in your Aspire One, connect the AC and insert your prepared USB flash drive.
Hold FN and ESC keys, while holding press the power button once, it will start blinking, then press it again, wait for a minute and kaboom! :D It's booting!

Credit goes to macles for discovering this method. Has saved many peoples' arses.
By the way, your blog post is incorrect; this flashes the BIOS, and has nothing whatsoever to do with one's OS.

    Good Luck ;)

    This worked PERFECTLY.

TONS of thanks; I already had an order open with Acer to get it sent in / repaired (although I must give them props to excellent customer service in that regard).

Seriously, I'm leaving that USB drive bootable with those files on it from now on; that was awesome.

...now I just have to take my laptop back apart to re-install my aftermarket RAM and re-install a lot of programs again. *sigh*

You might want to give credit to macles. =.= He/she is the person who found out how to do that...Don't just copy and paste and not give credit. That's horrible.

Well, there's a different method for preparing the USB flash drive on Linux.
