My audio sounds awful!!!

    ok, I plugged in a headset, and yet it is a Panasonic headset, a really good one, with heavy bass, but for reason, the audio skips even if I didn't plug it in, downgrading the driver solves this issue a bit, not completely, but with the new one, everything is worst than before!
    sometimes it clicks or skips, any help here? I am using vista btw.
