Only it's an AOA 150 - 1006 with 1 GB of ram and a 120GB hard drive. Can this be? If not (and I assume not) where is the error?

    thx

they ran out of 120GB and installed a 160GB instead.
happened to some one else on this forum too.
    enjoy the lucky shot.

pls, beore you point out its 144 not 160gb
144 is the actual capacity due to various things, eg 1000 bytes rater tha 1024, formatting etc etc...

That and since you got more space than you paid for, I would enjoy it.

Here is the previous thread about getting a 160 GB instead of a 120GB
    viewtopic.php?f=54&t=7041

The drive is smaller than 160 GB because...
    1) there is a hidden restore partition with XP on it.
    2) The 1000/1024 byte conversion for drives.

I bought my first AAO almost a week ago, and had some problems with it... So i returned it today and got this one. The one i got today came with a newer bios version, bigger hard drive, slightly different carrying sleeve, and runs considerably better than the first one purchased a few days ago. They both had the same build date, and were both purchased at the same walmart. Im not sure why they are soo different, but im MUCH happier with this one!

The first one was extremely slow on the internet. And it would randomly freeze up, and would lose its wireless connection. I fixed the wireless with help from this site, flashed the bios, did all the windows updates, but it still ran like a terd. This one has been running excellent out of the box, and have done all the windows updates, and it is working GREAT!

Mines a brand new one from Amazon UK and I only got 120GB HDD :( also came with 3114 BIOS so I guess its old-ish stock. Not the end of the world not getting 160GB, I wont come close to using up the 120GB!

I know, right. I have had mine for a little over a month, have added all sorts of stuff onto it, and still (only :D ) have around 138 gigs of space left...sweetness...what to add now???

When my new USB drive gets here, I may put on a new Linux partition to play with...
