I have a slight problem with the kernel from page one of this thread.
It doesn't boot up on my AAO.

This is what the screen shows:

[quote/]modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.27-8/modules.de: No such file or directory

    Loading, please wait...

Cannot write /sys/power/resume (no software suspend kernel support?)
kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot...

mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: No such file or directory
    Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init.
No init found. Try passing init=bootarg.[/quote]

And a second problem i have with this kernel is that i cannot remove it with synaptic because i don't find it.
How can i remove this kernel under Intrepid?

Just wanna say thank you for the kernel. This kernel + Ubuntu umpc 8.10 + Netbook remix are a very very good replacement for Linpus.

It does not work on my A150 with Ubuntu 8.10

When i'm trying to boot from the new kernel, it says error and it says something with the word "box" in it. Don't remember, and then i'm stuck in the terminal...thingy..

So, how can i fix this, and if no, how can i remove it again? Cause, the AAO boots up in this kernel everytime i power up the computer, so i must press esc and choose the other working kernel, and this is very very anoying!

Boot into the normal kernel, delete the entries for the broken kernel in /boot/grub/menu.lst, blow away the kernel image/init/systemmap in /boot.
Or if you installed it via the .deb way, dpkg -r it.

I'm still a newbi at Linux and ubuntu. I'm not good on terminal things yet. I installed it with .deb-files.

What command must i type to remove the kernel-package?

    Thanx in advance :)

As root try dpkg -r linux-2.6.27-8_aa1
I'm not sure exactly what the package name you used is if it added a -descriptor on the end. If that doesn't do it it open your package manager (Synaptic) and find it through there and uninstall.

Edit out the entries for that kernel in /boot/grub/menu.lst: sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

You betcha. I suggest the kernel posted by SICKBOY in this forum. Best I've seen compiled for the AAO so far and will be the one used in Kuki when it releases it's next alpha.
