need help with steam and wine

I installed steam on my acer and then added half-life, that froze and so I had to turn the acer off in the end. Now i''ve tried all i can think of and i can't uninstall steam and half-life is still there even though it wont open. steam is also on the xfce men, like half-life and when i reinstall it its asks if i want to repair and tht dusnt fix it. Plz help! Im a linux noob on linpus

*update i managed to get it to work for a short while, now it just opens connects and closes. I really need help
