Need some collaboration on GPS

Hey all. I recently purchased a generic USB GPS stick:

i'm thinking about disassembling it, removing the USB adapter and tucking it up inside the empty 3G space underneath the AA1.

now, it occurred to me that the device wouldn't get a very good signal being under the netbook like that. so here are my questions.
1) is there any sort of wifi-like antennae that i can run up through the LCD bezel
2) is there a better placement for a GPS this size?
