hey, new to the forun. currently have an alienware m17x but I'm thinking of selling it and getting something different.
it's too bulky for me but i like the performance of it. can anyone recommend a smaller laptop that has good hardware?

    thanks

    Hi there.
If you could disclose what stuffs you will be mainly doing on the laptop, it would help to narrow down the selection of your choices. How small of a laptop do you want? Have you considered netbook? Although they do not necessarily have the best hardware, their small size is a fair trade off for the performance. Especially if you are only using your laptop for light usage, you might want to consider it.

Hmm.. if you're going for a smaller form factor, I'd recommend the Lenovo y510p, though recently found out it doesn't support mSATA so I'm not so sure. It's 15 inch and it's got a pretty good set of internals, the latest core i7 CPUs and dual Geforce GTX755M SLI if you go for the more expensive configuration.

I agree. I think we would have to know what you are going to use it for to give you good suggestions. For example, are you a gamer? If so, you will need much different hardware than someone who just likes to surf the Web a lot.

If it is for gaming then I would suggest trying out Asus laptops. They have been recently making a gaming laptop that works and isn't that bulky.

We'd need to know your budget, the size you want it, and what performance you want. Someone's definition of "good hardware" might be different to somebody else.
@NeroFerk What is the model of the laptop? I might check it out.

If you need a laptop that has great performance and light in weight, then go for a Macbook Pro or Air. It will offer the value of your money any time. I have been using one for years and I have never regretted buying it.
