I have an Aspire 1 D150-1577 (Acer tells me this is the same as the AOD 150). I am running Windows XP with Service Pack 3. Wireless internet previously worked fine, but Windows had problems. I purchased a new set of system and recovery discs from Acer. The set they sent me is for the AOD 150 and either has no wireless software or fails to install the wireless software. Everything else works fine.

(If this is any help, let me tell you that when I directly plug into my router with a Cat 5 cable I instantly get internet. But no wireless whatsoever).

BTW: I tried Acer tech support and tried to explain that even though my warranty has expired when one buys a set of install discs from Acer, one expects the discs to make the computer to function roperly, and they ought to either provide me with the missing wireless software, or if that isn't the problem, at least help me get the wireless working. I mean I paid for the software, after all. I was politely told to get lost.

Can you check in Device Manager (right click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager) and tell us if there are any device listed either under "Networking Adapters" or as "Unknown Devices". That will tell you if there's a hardware problem with your WiFi or a software problem.
