Postby c921 » Wed Oct 28, 2009 10:50 pm I'd have to test it out again and if it doesn't work, then I will send it again for repair and not pay for the shipping costs until they finally fix it. Right now, I'm not thinking of the hassle anymore, but I'm going to rip off Acer and let them spend a lot of money fixing this unreliable netbook. Sounds like they are the ones going to suffer in the end and not the consumers. So I advice anyone who has the same situation as mine to send it also for repair as early as you can and even if it will take 10 trips to their service depot... DO IT.
I'm going to do that, just for the sake of revenge. And because the store where I bought it will handle the shipping procedures and costs for me. I don't strictly need this PC, so I'll use it to entertain Acer's support technicians. I'll probably send it on monday; I'll keep you updated on how the situation will evolve. I'm also experiencing a new problem here: the single USB port on the right seems to be faulty and to produce data corruption if used for long periods to link an external mass storage unit (namely, a WD MyBook Essential that works flawlessly if attached to any other computer). I did nearly loose 400 GB of personal data. So be warned, once more. Vista and 7 handle this problem quite well (you are warned in time and can recover data), but XP will cripple your storage device after a few times you link it.
