NEW ACER ONE BROWN 120GB XP FEW Q'S

    Heello, just purchase a new acer one brown 120gb xp w/ 1gig ram .want to upgrade to 2gig.. .Just wanted to know what would be the best netbook?cooler fan to go with and memoryaswell thank-u.

    You can't upgrade to 2GB. 1.5GB max so if you want that much, you should find a 1GB module to upgrade.

    Nice I love the brown one too bad the store didnt have it when i got mine yesterday. Btw, is your AAO silent or can you hear the fan when it turns on?

    so I started out with a 1gig and can only add 512mb correct? total 1.5 gig. using xp I thought linux limpus does not notice the extra ram? but xp will? sorry confusedd.

    and also if someone can tell me if there is any benefits to using a usb cooler pad for my netbook .

    Tallytail: fan runs all the time. not to bad though.its silent for the most part.I guess thats what there were made to do.

    i am new to this but i know that there is only 1 slot for ram the other 512 is soldered onto the mother board. so you have to rip out your 512 ram out of the single slot and replace it with a 1gig ram for a total 1.5 gig. that is the max.

    how silent is yours? like you dont hear the fan at all? or you hear humming?

    Just got our Blue Aspire One today and notice this thread. Tried getting a Brown Aspire One in the UK and couldnt find one any where - where did you get yours?
