New AOA150-1447, when will we see it

With the announcement of the AOA150-1447 (http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/acer-remembers-netbooks-were-supposed-to-be-cheap-drops-price-o/), when will we see these price drops and new specs hitting stores in the US? I'm itching to pull the trigger.

 

I am highly skeptical of these "new" CONFIGURATIONS being released soon.

first, the press report says these configurations are available yet these new model numbers are NOT reflected even on acer's on website. so much for one hand talking to the other.

secondly, current model winXP versions seem to be back-ordered and not in stock. two weeks ago i placed an order with one online vendor for the winXP 1gig/120gHD/3-cell for $399 and was told a new shipment would be coming "sometime the end of august". if the current winXP configuration is backordered will the new 1gig/160gig/6-cell suddenly appear?

if acer's intent is on lowering these prices in time for school they better act fast. according to my calendar, school starts right after labor day!!!!!!

thirdly, i imagine most users will want the winXP/1gig/160gHD/6-cell for $399. demand will be high. will this be a repeat of the MSI debacle ???

 

These are new configurations, not really new models.

Get the other colours out and more importantly 3G and wimax - they are the real new models.

i am waiting to hear what happens with the new dell netbook. it looks very hot in RED.

 

Is the AOA150-1447 only going to be available in the US?

 

acer's press release said "now available" which could mean months and months away.

 

Recently pre ordered one in sapphire blue at buy.com, but when...when will it come? That is the question.

 

i am concerned that buy.com will end up cancelling the orders and raising the prices, just like they did with the msi wind.

 

Oh no! Say it isn't so. Truthfully, there's so much competition out there, I think we will see a price war if it hasn't already begun. But, with the battery shortage you might be right.

 

I hope we'll see it soon. I can't do anything else online but look for it... and read the posts in this forum.
