would be nice if I could get the battery life out of the later bioses that I did with 3114. I think it is probably due to the backlight settings, as I didn't have an issue with flicker but I lost my lower settings. :x

I just got my Aspire One a few weeks ago. Where does Acer release their official updates at?

Same here. Never seen the screen flicker at all, but Acer seem to think I have one of the problem lcds.

I just flashed 3308 a few minutes ago. Subjectively computer response time seems to be faster. Web pages seem to load faster and the machine just has a faster feel. This is all very subjective but all seems positive so far under both XP and Vista. No problems of any kind have been noted so far.

    LOL

    and why would it not?

if there is no changelog, you cant really say what they did.
If they (by any chance) changed the timings of the RAM, for example, this would have that effect.

yeah, but not all ram timings react the same with different RAM chips, most of the time, changing the timing makes the ram unstable for most of the time.

lol, its so funny how I don't really read throughly, anyways, BIOS updates by any chance can only fix bugs enhance some features, and thats it, can't make system faster.

the ACPI controller seem to have some issue this patch. Battery will not charge upon return from standby even though the charger is plugged in. Battery would slowly drain until a sudden death of machine, very insidious.

EDIT: I fixed this issue by revert to 3307

    Where ever I'm sent....

I updated both mine and partners to 3308 and have had no problems... So may be an issue with your machine..
    regards

dont press F12 to change boot order.
get in the BIOS with F2 and change the boot order from there to allow USB stick to boot before the HDD.
