Agreed with other posters - Mine did exactly the same thing - just shut down whether Bios/WinXP with the fan full on??

In the end I loaded up the old Bios v 3308 onto a USB, restarted the Acer1 without mains, then when I had booted onto the USB I reconnected the PSU (This time the fan stayed quiet. I then managed to re-flash back to 3308 (A nervious short wait) and all is fine again??

I don't know what happened but I guess some problem between the Bios and CPU temperature monitoring, ie Bios though CPU too hot, hence fan on full, then decided to switch off in case CPU got damaged??

So what is the best way to flash the bios to 3309. Use the winflash option, (acer website), or the USB option, (macles website).

It'll be nice when Acer will put XD bit support and AHCI in a future BIOS revision (yes, the 945GSE chipset should support the latter, as it can optimize power consumption, and every mobile chipset take care of this !)

I'm sure that when this come true, macles will tell to us...

ok stupid question i guess but i just got, literally yesterday, the acer one AO715h. now when i go the the acer panam site it says the "latest" bios version for my computer is 3206 and on my box the version is 3204. i'm guessing i should probably use that one, yes? or can i use 3309? i guess if worse comes to worse i can always downgrade. anyone else have the same model and has upgraded?.

i read in another post that this solves some peoples problem of usb bootable devices. and as im tring to install os x on it that would probably help me. but i just wondered. thanks in advance =)

BIOS 3309 is only for the AOA150, AOA110
for your model, only use 3206!
You will brick your machine if you flash 3309
