    After installing BIOS v.3310 my AAO won't startup (has Win7 RC as OS)

    I have seen posts about how to recover the pre-installed bootable partition but I think I'd rather just try to undo my new BIOS settings by going back to v.3301 that I had before. Can anyone point me to a how-to or explain what I'm up against?

    2 calls to Acer support now get magically disconnected when it seems that the alt+F10 option isn't working and I'm losing faith in them.

    All replies are graciously appreciated,

    Thanks

    There are two separate issues here;
    Failure to post = No bios screen when selecting F2 or computer does not power on. If this happens when updating the Bios, that is BAD. Try Macles Bios Recovery method (FN + ESC + Pwr Button).

    Second issue is where computer posts but does not boot OS. Once Win 7 is installed the Acer special MBR is written over and is gone. Without the special MBR you will not be able to use the D2D recovery partition to reinstall XP. The Special MBR can be restored, see viewtopic.php?f=44&t=17216#p101367

    Or use Win 7 install disc to repair the startup of Win 7.
