Like many new owners of the Aspire One using Linpus I am having problems with update.

Numerous various problems are reported, incorrect file, server busy, dependency errors etc.

I have enabled the 'new-key' repositories but still no success, is there a list anywhere of what repositories should be enabled withing the software manager.

Can you post some of the errors so we can see them; it helps people to troubleshot your problem.

    You could also try this:
    Open a terminal session

"sudo apt-get update" - this will update your listing of available files
"sudo apt-get upgrade" - this will upgrade any files found to have newer versions.

    Hope this helps,

    Denis

Isn't sudo apt-get a debian command from ubuntu?

Re the error messages, I've ended up deleting all the repositories so now get nothing :(

sudo is a Unix command, apt-get is used by any disto that uses the .deb package management system; it's really a front end for dpkg. I don't have the version of Linux that Acer shipped, bought a WinXP one and installed Ubuntu on it. If you deleted all your repositories, and your not comfortable with the command line, you may want to think about a re-install.

I am assuming HAL is Hardware Abstraction Layer Daemon :(
