The article on the front page looks very interesting... Does anyone know whether this new OS (which is meant to be released one day this week) will be backward-compatible with all AAOs?

I was looking at that - at first glance it does sound like it doesn't it? What makes me wonder though is there's no mention of it being optimised for the Intel Atom, so I'm not so sure now... I'll try to download it this evening and try it out over the weekend.

What do you get? Just a boot error or do you see the boot loader and then it crashes?
I haven't tried it yet myself.

I've managed to get it on a thumb drive from unetbootin, but I've not had much luck at getting it to boot. Just gets in then doesn't manage to start xfce, very strange.

Well, it's a Linpus Lite release from Linpus, so I imagine they've just dumped their own logos on rather than using any moblin ones

    Just a version number.

I've had another crack at this anyway, essentially it has to be done from an external CD ROM drive I think. The image keeps hammering at trying to find a cd rom to read from, can't, then kernel panics. Might have a look at rewriting the boot script.
