Depends on what you are going to use it for. I opted for the first model (when I got it I found I had a 160GB hard drive in it), because I wanted to run Office, and do some photo editing work that involves an advanced program,, besides having a few special reference programs I need in my work. For the price difference, I would personally opt for the 120GB hard drive model. Leaves room to do a whole lot more.

You don't mention the battery - my one "to do over" would be to get the 6-cell battery since the 3-cell is only good for a couple of hours. Users on this forum have reported up to 9-cell but not so sure they're from reputable manufacturers. (I chose the 160g HDD with XP, was C$380 back in October.)

Can you guys tell me about the speed of the Aspire?

When I open up Youtube videos or watch movies on my computer they are very slow and herky jerky. That is one of the major reasons why I want a new computer.

Will I get horrible buffering crap and slow lag times and such with the Aspire One?

I've watched YouTube and news site videos, etc. and experimented with Hulu's full length movies, as well as playing DVDs over the wi-fi by drive sharing with the main PC (the included version of WinDVD player works fine for those.) No problem with playback, poor speakers require headphones and the small screen gets tiring over time, so I'm not going big time into media enhancements.

Well, I will be buying a 160g Aspire One this week. Very exciting and scared, this will be my very first ever PC. I have been a Mac guy my whole life.

I am imagining a killer virus the first day. :(

    I am nervous.

    Can't wait to get it!

What is the very first thing I should add to it when I get it?

Maybe a wiser question would be what to remove from the computer, check for a relevant thread. There is a discussion or two on it.
