I just got my own AAOne today and thought I'd chime in too. It was a real steal, only £120 from eBay for the Linpus 512mb RAM, 160gb HD model. The eBay auction described the laptop as the 120gb Model with light scratches to the top of the lid, yet the one I received is flawless and has the larger HD, so I'm pretty happy right now.

As soon as I knew I was getting the Aspire One I found this place, and it's been a real resource throughout the buying process, not to mention telling me all I need to know about the product I was so keen to get. Now I finally have one and I'm currently getting hold of iATKOS v5i for some OSx86 fun (I'm in love with my Mac Mini and doubt I'll ever go back to windows, least of all on my main machine, but I can see a dual boot on the horizon for my AAOne now that I have this extra HD space to play with).

So yeah, thanks to all who run and maintain this website, as well as all the helpful posters and replies that have kept me informed thus far, this place has a nice atmosphere to it as a forum, and is very helpful. A long way from the massive forums flooded with 14 year olds that I'm so used to. This is a great site, both main blog and forum, and I'm looking forward to coming back here quite a lot as I continue to play around with my new toy.

Welcome you two. I too am a rather new AA1 owner. I did my research and purchased January 1st (for tax purposes ;)). I too got an AA1 listed as 120 with 160 in it. Excellent eh. There are plenty of things you will need to know about your AA1 so check often and search and you will find :)

First off, download a fan control program, oh and check BIOS :)

enjoy and welcome to the ummm... AAOUF LOL
