    You will get this driver when running "Windows Update".

    The one on Windows is probably not the same driver. It's dated for August 2008. A full 2 months before the XP version of this driver.

    the badongo link is working - look on the right and you'll see a text to enter in the box and a "Start Download" button :)

    How do you go about installing this? I downloaded and unzipped the file and I have three folders of files. What do I do?

    What's the original source of the driver? Acer still has 7.6.0.224 listed at it's support download site. I'm loathe to just install this without knowing where it came from.

    Right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties"
    Click the "Hardware" tab, then click the "Device Manager" button
    Find "Network Adapters" in the list, click the + sign next to it
    Right click on "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter", select "Update Driver..."
    In the wizard, first select "No, not this time", then click Next
    Then select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next
    Click "Browse" and then select one of the folders you unzipped, depending on which operating system you're using:
    ndis5x = Windows XP
    ndis5x64 = Windows XP 64-bit
    ndis6x = Windows Vista

    The rest should be self-explanatory!

    I flashed my bios from v3114 to 3305. updated the vlan driver to 7.6.1.160 , but i still cannot connect to the internet! It shows the wifi connection as very strong to excellent, but on mozilla, it just kept on conneting to en-us.start2.mozilla.com for like 1 min then i get a network timeout message.

    Someone posted in another thread to open the network connections, check the properties of the atheros connection and uncheck the QOS packet scheduling. I'm testing it now and so far so good...

    Also try resetting your router. I had that trouble a couple days ago and a reset fixed the wireless issue I was having with the AAO.

    Yes that was me --- with the QoS fix-- got it from "theacerguy" website--

    Go to Control Panel, Network Connections-- right click on your wireless connection, choose Properties and UNCHECK the QoS service box.

    Wait about 30 seconds and reboot the machine--

    No problems now for several weeks--

    Acer One, XP, bios 3505, driver ver. 160
    :D
