Hi all. I've got an A150 with XP I installed myself. Won't show the battery level though. Checked the BIOS using SiSoftware Sandra and it reports that it doesn't support APM, does support ACPI, doesn't support Smart Battery (both v3114 and v3308). On Power options in Device manager, no battery option, but 2 unknown devices. Computer reported as ACPI Multiprocessor PC.

XP used was from a Dell Desktop that had been nLited. Is this my problem - the XP install, or is there other issues here?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Mike.

    Hi

try A1CTL http://nodadev.wordpress.com/pc-projects/a1ctl/ works great and shows battery time left when unplugged as to why XP isn't hmm have you looked under power settings???? Also sounds like XP has some drivers/files missing as my XP machine shows battery levels etc fine.... try tinyXP(links in forum) this works perfect....

    regards
    Andrew

I am running TinyXP and it performs excellently. It boots in half a minute and apps open really quickly but it always help if you have the firefox cache on your SD card and I even use portable firefox so it's all contained on the Sd card. But go for it, you just have to download the UK Keybaord if you use Ron's image.

I had this very problem when i changed the OS to XP using nlite following instructions from a website. the results were no battery and also a very slow unresponsive installation.
I would reccomend a proper installation of XP

ron does img burn work on your xp as my mum would like to use a external dvd writer, And no one seems to know if there is a dvd/cd writing package for the linux one. That and it will be nice to use it anyway as that is what i always install on main pc (version 20 or now 21)
