Hey guys, this is my first day with my 751h. I spent about 5 minutes on the included XP, and wiped it clean for Tiny7 rev01. I'm honestly amazed. I've seens posts and threads of people complaining about keyboard flex, bad videos on youtube and hulu, being slow in general, blackouts, freezes, etc.

First, I'm going to say that this is a refurb that I bought from Woot for $250. cosmetically, the only thing that was wrong was that the sticker showing the finger gestures for the mousepad was torn in half, but I took it off as soon as I saw it. No scratches or anything else.

OK, back to other people complaining. there is no keyboard flex whatsoever. I went through every key on the board with a decent amount of force, and nothing moved unnecessarily.

Youtube and hulu, before the GMA500 update, it was choppy, but nothing that would just tick me off. after the update, its all smooth, but the video and audio aren't synced (its maybe a third of a second off). but that may have just been the video that I watched. hulu was perfect in small screen mode, full screen had that same SLIGHT lag.

As for the other stuff, no problems yet, but its only been a few hours.

If I HAD to complain about something, I would say that the 1366x768 makes things too small to see. but that's only because I'm not used to it, and I've got a bad set of contacts in. So, yeah. Not enough of a big deal to worry about it. I'll get used to it pretty soon...

On a side note, I LOVE the mousepad disable option. I always tap the pad when typing, and it clicks wherever the pointer is, and screws up my typing.

Put your mouse anywhere on the Desktop, right click, Properties, Settings, Advanced and select "Large size (120 DPI). I think this makes the screen much easier to read. You can also select "Custom" here, but I haven't had good luck with that setting on previous computers and so far have not tried it here.

Re disabling the TouchPad, that's the ONLY way to go IMHO. I much prefer to use a mouse. This is similar to the one I have.

Note the very small USB wireless port. It only sticks out about 1/4".

I agree. It's a nice little machine, assuming you aren't doing something silly like video editing. It only has 2 major flaws:
    1) It can't play flash video very well (Hulu, Youtube, etc)
    2) Some people have an unsolvable "freezing issue". There's a huge thread about it.

Other than that, it's a totally usable netbook with a "big" screen at a rock-bottom price. People who complain mostly had unrealistic expectations of the processor.

well, so much for the good praises.. I'm trying to send it back. I started getting those freeze ups. I'm not sure if I want another Aspire One, or some other netbook, or just a 13-14" full blown laptop. I loved everything about the 751h, until the BSOD's came. Even if there was a definite fix, I'd want to keep it, but I don't want to send it to Acer 4 or 5 times and 3 weeks at a time. I'd rather just get my money back and pool it with another $250 for something more reliable..
