Hi all, I have an model LU.S050B. It came with Linux as we didn't want XP home, and I have successfully installed XP pro on it. The display looks fine on the small screen. However, I have today got an LG 17" LCD screen which looks very fuzzy. So I go into the SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - DISPLAY - SETTINGS and try to change the screen resolution. However, the slider will not move from 800x600. If I go into ADVANCED - MONITOR the properties button of the monitor is greyed out, so no go there.

When I go into the DEVICES I find there is no Display Adaptor and no Monitor installed. All my other computers have Adaptors and Monitors. How this machine manages to work without either I have no idea.

What can I do? I don't even know what sort of Display adaptor is in the box as the derisory 'documentation' does not say.

Also you may want to do BIOS update if its not already updated!

    Code:
3309 "Change vbios setting to fixed external display vibrate issue."

Thanks, that driver works fine - on boot the machine now comes up with very high res as default. Little screen now looks fine, and on the 19" LCD is really good - the big screen looked terrible at that low resolution.

That ACER site is a menace - it took me many goes to get anything to download as it always lost the connection after a meg or so. As I don't seem to have any trouble downloading from other sites I can point fingers I reckon ....
