Kind of a weird one...after booting up my Aspire One (AOA-150, XP 120gb model), from time to time, I will get a screen with my wallpaper with no icons showing. I had success the first time using system restore to a previous setting. Now, I have to bring the machine all the way back to the original state to rectify the problem. I am starting to think the installation of IE 8 (and any associated components in that Windows suggested update) might be the cause. I'm a Firefox guy, but I do use IE embedded in the Firefox browser when I view Major League Baseball pages and games. Any one else have this issue? I grow weary having to reinstall my programs all the time from scratch.

    Any suggestions appreciated...thanks

Hi. Have you had any luck sorting this problem. I have the 110 and after installing some updates, I have the same problem. When I switch off, it says I am logged in under my name, but there is no desktop showing. Lost all my Wi Fi too.
