I Live Updated my Acer One while I was connected with the net through my uni's vpn using (k)vpnc. After rebooting kvpnc didn't connect to my university's vpn. I got an error:

''can't open /dev/net/tun, check that it is either device char 10 200 or (with DevFS) a symlink to ../misc/net/tun (not misc/net/tun): No such device''.

I made my own kernel-modul tun.ko and copied it to /lib/modules/2.6.23.9lw/kernel/drivers/net/ and "depmod -a"ed it. Till the live update today it worked, but now it's broken.

I hate Live Update. It just deleted any one of my custom kernel-moduls.

you have to recopy (you have a backup right???) the mother@#!&ing tun.ko module to the /lib/modules/2.6.23.9lw/kernel/drivers/net/ and depmod (again)

live update seems to routinely delete the tun.ko module.... has happened to me twice now

first time left my joystick module alone this time it wiped that out also.
