no network linpus using samba

    I just got my aspire one today and experience problems making a network.
    I cant get my windows and linux pc to see my aspire one wired and wireless.

    Things i tried.

    smb://192.168.1.4 (ip from my xp pc
    create a share directory in samba

    I tried it wired and wireless
    whenever i type smb: or smb://ipadres it gives me a red no nacces sig
    Does anyone know howt ? fix i to
