    Hello,

suddenly, may AAO just doesn't recognize the AC/power.
Nothing happen when I plug the power adaptor.

I tried different plugs, and it absolutely doesn't work. I ran through the complete discharge of my battery and now I can not do anything.

What can I try? Is it a known problem?

When I plug the plug, I can hear a little click on the adaptator which would be the sign thaht there is power, but when I plug the power to teh AAO, nothing happens (no light lit).

    Thanks for any help

    I have the same problem.

I upgraded the RAM, it all worked a treat, everything powered up fine. But for some reason the acer does not recognise the power supply.

I found a replacement adapter on ebay but sadly no dice. So currently I have a nice white paperweight as the battery has run down. I also checked the fuse in the plug.

Hope somebody out there has a clue what to try next!

i had the same problem, after looking under the hood i found that the power connector i attached the mother board by a small peice of wire or maybe even solder. it was cracked so i soldered it back together and worked fine for a couple of days and then it happened again, took it apart and re soldered it and now i am nursing it untill my manufacters warrantys is up and i can use my walmart warrantys, acers warranty program is a joke... hope this helps

Be sure the problem is in the computer and not in the adapter or connecting cords. My one warranty fix was that the (hecho en Mexico) three line cord between the wall socket and the power brick developed a crack and caused a disconnect. Acer was very prompt about sending the replacement cord. The unit was rock solid before and has been since (knock on wood.)

sadly i havent found a fix for this either, it happened about 3 months after having it, acers reply was "if its power then its your fault, you can send it to us at a cost of £50" so being a fairly compentent technician i thought id have a look myself, so i stripped it down and checked everything but i still couldnt find the problem, for a short time it worked on and off with a replacement universal power adapter, lasted a few months like that before it refused to charge from that one either, still no clue as to what causes it, i just replaced it with a samsung and will never ever buy acer again

They sell the power connector on ebay. You have to disassemble down to the motherboard and solder in the new connector.

There is a fuse on the motherboard (labeled in the schematics: PF1) that is connected to the power jack. The schematics specifies it as BUS-5A-1206, so I guess it is a 5A fuse in the 1206 SMD package. It is soldered to the motherboard. Since I have blown a similar fuse on my motherboard, the one going to the batteries, it could be that somebody had blown this 5A fuse.
