Can you playback a file with DVBviewer using the broadcom decoder? Or is it just live TV that gets the error?

    I am using sp43723driver.exe and sp43732Totalmedia.exe

Try a different directshow TV program. You could try MyTheatre, it has a trial version which works for one hour each restart.

Re: Notes on some AAO Modifications

Can anyone post the images again?
Also, will the card still be unlocked after firmware upgrade?

You download the drivers and firmware from sierra wireless. I used the drivers for the device the card came inside of, forgot the name...

DC Unlocker is the software to unlock the 3G card.

Nope it seems Sierra is not providing support for the MC series of products.

Jerry can you upload a copy of firmware and Watcher software for MC 8781 that you may have and provide me its link,
I wrote to Sierra support but they replied that they no longer support this type of devices.

    thanks in advance

The aircard 881U has a MC8781 card inside, so these are the drivers and firmware which I used.

    Don't install the firmware.

Install the drivers using whatever firmware is on the card.

Download DC unlocker and check if the card is unlocked. Note DC unlocker may not unlock the latest fireware, check their website.

After you verify the card is unlocked or you unlock the card, then you can upgrade the firmware.
I had to install earlier firmware, so I could unlock one of my MC8781 cards.

I could not get it to work, so I use a USB device.

I tried to wire directly into the PCIe wires for the daughter board card reader but it did not work. I might have missed some needed wire. It is fairly easy to get the wires needed from the daughter board harness.

    Hey Jerryt,

by the whole 3rd mini pcie slot, you are refering to drawing(enabling) a pcie bus to the 3G pcie slot (which currently supports devices that work via the USB bus only)

    right ?

PS : Jerryt, is there any chance that our AOA 150 's be enabled to boot through MMC/SD cards too. Would love to have memory card boot enabled on a 'one'. (I have seen this in one of the aspire models.)
