Okay, I'm sure this has probably been covered, but I'm in desperate and quick need of help with my Aspire One.

The last time I used it was Friday evening, it was working fine. I put it into standby and it was left plugged in all weekend. When I tried to turn it on today (Sunday afternoon) nothing happened. I made sure it was completely off and tried again. It made a super quiet version of its normal running sound, but no display or anything. The display didn't even light up like it was going to ATTEMPT to come on. I removed the battery, I unplugged it, I tried everything I could think of and still no response. I didn't even get the Windows boot screen when I hooked it up to an external.

What's going on?? I've had it just since November and I'm not rough on it. It was sitting on a bed table all weekend and never moved from its spot so it didn't fall or anything. I have a paper to write and finals this week so I really could use my laptop back.

    Thanks.

Are you saying you left it plugged in and on standby mode over the weekend? I thought you were generally supposed to leave computers on standby for temporary shortish time periods. It sounds as though it never woke from standby. When you turned it on it sounds as if it is still going into standby - at least the display seems to. When you turn it on now are you running from battery or mains?

If the sleep settings have altered you may have to go into the Bios and alter them. However if you have no display that is not really possible. Can you use windows in safe mode?

Brad ford, I can't get anything out of it whatsoever. It turns "off" and when it turns on, it sounds like something is running, but not the normal fan noise it normally has. It's very quiet, compared to its normal beastly self. I've tried running it from both battery and outlet. There's no difference either way.

JerryT, sorry, but you just spoke Greek to me, lol. Is there anywhere that maybe explains this process? I've been wanting to update the BIOS anyway, I just never knew how.

I am trying to buy a dead motherboard, first thing I do is try the Macles Bios Recovery.

After four motherboards, I am still trying to find a dead motherboard. I am 4 for 4.
