OCZ Throttle eSATA Flash Drive

ohh crap this is a cool mod went to newegg.com and it turns out that they have the 30gb ones for 75$ i wish i had known about this i did the cf mod on mine this is way better. question how much practice should a person have at soldering before attempting this mod? what tools do you recommend for this project? could you take some pictures to show how much space the drive takes up? i would love to do this to my aspire one.

 

Hi there, a steady hand and some experience of soldering on PCB's, I have quite shaky hands, but taking plenty of time an not rushing gave me a good finish.

You need a variable heat soldering iron (so as not to damage the motherboard or sensitive components), solder, solder pump, solder wick and patience, the hardest part is getting the solder out of the holes in the first place to be able to get the wires through to ensure a proper connection.

Am planing to improve my surface area on my heatsink at some point so will take photos when I open her up again (really feel like I should give her a name, but then I'd get worried about "hurting" her, LOL)

would it be possible to do this mod alongside the i pod hd mod if so that would be the ultimate solution. sata flash drive for the os and the hd for the files.
