...but, has anyone tried Win2K on the AA1? I know its older, but I am just curious. Do you think there would be any potential problems? Overheating? Anything I may not be smart enough to know? I am curious and nostalgic for the OS, and was wondering before I tried it out to see if there would be any show stoppers. Thanks in advance for putting up with the crazy man.

Win2k is OK for AA1. Does not require that much resources like XP and Vista. There was no problem with drivers - most of hardware works out-of-the-box. Available to download drivers works with Win2k very good. I had no problems with this OS. As you mentioned this system is old and no longer supported by M$...

Rock on. Thanks a lot. I'll give it a whirl now!

One more thing...how is the power management? Does it run hot?

I had no problems with this at all. Temperature was normal - same with XP or Linux...
