I upgraded my AAO to 10.5.3 then was in the middle of updating to 10.5.4 and my computer freezes up no response I HAD to reboot. Now my comp doesn't know what Mac OS Version its running. So black and script galore. How do I fix this!

Unless you're extremely comfortable working without a GUI, I would say it's time to re-install OSX. Perhaps try taking a crack at iATKOS this time around, which will start you at 10.5.5 with an easy update to .6.

Honestly, I can understand why he hasn't upgraded. Once I install 10.5.5 and then update to 10.5.6, I will probably leave it as is for quite some time, given the difficulties one may encounter in an upgrade. Down the road a few months I'll probably do a fresh install/update instead of the mini-updates over time just to save myself the annoyances of constantly upgrading and fixing stuff. I have a Mac already that I keep as fresh as possible, and Acer is just to keep around the house and on the go.

As for iATKOS 10.5.5, it was a super easy install once I finally got an un-broken .iso file. I have yet to do the 10.5.6 upgrade, though...still having fun dinking around with the compy...as well as waiting for the 1490.

I have not been able to get past the "finding a real working iatkos iso" phase...it seems like there are more scams, dead links and redirects than real links out there...can anyone recommend a "reliable" source??

    thanks in advance

Let's not talk publicly on this forum as to where people acquired their software. Pirating is illegal, and talking about it on someone elses website is like stabbing a hooker in your neighbor's garage. I'm sure someone will PM you with the information you seek.
