Hi Guys, I'm not ready to replace it just yet based on my budget but is there anything I can do to speed things up again?
I'm pretty sure I have the defrag set to automatic and I recently applied new thermal paste to the i5. Also, I noticed the heat sink fan was not coming on so installed a new one but it's still not activating... Can not stand much more of this latency problem..
    Any assistance appreciated...

Welcome to the laptop forums site

You could try right clicking on the task bar, then clicking on the task manager,
then go to the startup menu.

Disable some of the programs, some programs load at start up that you may not
use all the time, this will help.

Also in the bottom left search icon type in (disk cleanup) you can the choose systems files and run the cleanup this will remove some leftover files.
