I recently learned that all Acers have glossy screens. Several reviews have stated that this is a problem, with one going so far as to say working outdoors was "an ordeal". Since, as a netbook, it's going to get used pretty much anywhere, this has pretty much killed my plan to buy an Acer.

Am I making too big a deal out of this? As Acer netbook users, what are your experiences on this particular issue?

    Thanks.

I've read many reviews stating that the aspire one is great outdoors.

Well, I thought I had an alternative in the form of the EeePC 1005HA, but it turns out that too has a glossy screen. It's also more expensive and with less battery life.

I guess I'll find out soon enough if the screen on the D150 is good for me or not...

    Thanks. :)

I bought a Dell laptop a couple of years ago, and didn't bother with the £10 option Truelife screen, which is glossy

Having since seen a couple of friends' Dells outdoors, I'd rate this a mistake, as although it seems counter-intuitive until you actually try it, the glossy ones are easier to see

    Moho,

Changing screen brightness on this netbook seems to be a big problem for a number of people on these Acer forums, including myself. No instructions come with the computer. How do you adjust your screen brightness?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Billy.
