    Over the weekend I had a problem getting onto a wired network at a hotel, they sent a tech to the room while I was at a show. Since then every time I boot up it goes through check disk during the boot, everything works fine. I just went into control panel and did a full check disk figuring it may fix it, NG still goes through check disk upon reboot! I am not having any fun today!

    Have you run "msconfig" and selected your start up items? If you need a hand with msconfig, post back

    Did they maybe install some program that won't shut down properly? Check "add/remove programs" and see what is in there that maybe you do not know about.

    Google turned this up from a guy called "Claymore" (no experience with this myself):

    Change the following according to your drive letter.

    Go to Start => Run and type in "cmd" {without the quotes} to open a
    Command window.
    Type in "chkntfs C:" {without the quotes}
    It should tell you if the dirty bit is set ("C: is dirty"). This means
    the drive is flagged to be scanned with chkdsk.

    If it is, type in (or copy/paste) "chkntfs /x C:" {without the quotes}
    Note the spaces before and after /x
    This will prevent chkdsk from scanning drive C: at startup.

    To reset it to normal, again open a Command window, and type in
    "chkntfs /d"

    chkntfs /x C Worked great! But with a reset it went right back to checking the disk. I will run a full Ck Disk and retrey.
