Hello, I would be glad for som help.

    My scenario:
    Computer*(see signature)
I have used OS X86 iATKOS v4i for a while, I have a configuration that I like. Yesterday I tried to install VMWARE FUSION. In the middle of the installation the computer freezed and I recieved a message: "Please restart your computer". I restarted but now I only get a lightblue backround, no pointer or dock or menu. Just a lightblue backround :(

Well, I tried in -v verbose mode, It doesn't say much, cuz I can boot up (almost, as said baefore I only get a blue backround).
I tried to tun with -x safe mode and that worked, SO; Is the problem maybe a KEXT ? I removed VMWARE from Applications but It didn't heled.

Does anyone have a clue? :?: :?: MAybe this error is not because of VMWARE, I have no idea. How can restore all KEXT back to "Starting point" of an OSX86 install without reinstall the system?

    Please help, thank you alot!

    I dualboot with XP...
But I don't think that's the thing that starts the problem..
Now I don't recieve only a blue screen. Somethime I get the screen "Please restart you computer"...

It must be bad kext's that makes this problem, but how should I fix it? I really don't want to reinstall my computer :( :(

    Can anyone help me?

Boot into Safe Mode (-x at the bootloader prompt) and run the uninstall script that comes with VMWare. That will clear up the problem, though of course it'll still leave you without VMWare.

The problem is the vmmon.kext kernel extension that VMWare installs; trying to load it seems to freeze things up immediately (AFAICT it's what causes the crash during installation too).

On the InsanelyMac board I found a patched version of vmmon.kext that only refuses to load, rather than crashing the machine, but so far I haven't managed to actually get VMWare running. I'll probably give Parallels a try when I next have time to play.
