Orange Livebox connection problem - Please Help

I have an acer aspire one netbook and it wont connect wirelessly to my orange livebox but it would do with my previous d link router. It says DISCONNECTED - THE NETWORK CONNECTION HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED when I try to connect. I also have a wired connection from the livebox to my pc and that works fine so I know its not a problem with my internet connection. Please Help. The netbook is using Linux. Thanks for any advice.
