Order Acer Restore CD Online..If You Dare.

Went to Acer's support site below and I noticed the have a link now where you can order a recovery CD:

It looks pretty cheesy and does not inspire confidence. I put in my SNID and it did not work. I put in my serial number and it worked fine. I did not order it yet. It seems they want $19 + $10 shipping. They quoted me $35 when I called tech support.

Acer has the worst customer support I have ever had to work with. More on that in another post. But in short, Acer Aspire One Users with XP do not get support on the weekend.

 

All I did was call the support number and asked if I could get the recovery disks. The women on the line asked for the serial number. She said it was not registered, would I like to do that now. Yes. After that she said the cost would be 19.00 etc, etc, etc. I said "you want to chagre me for a recovery disk that should have come with the sytem and that I paid for a copy of the windows xp" She said let me see what I can do. Came backandsaid "not a problem, the disks are on there way". Got them fedex saturday noon. So you can get them.

We only paid ~US$300 or equivalent for the computer. We get what we paid for. Acer is not the only computer/related products manufacturer that don't provide weekend support. Plus with the online forums, who needs their technical support, unless you want to order or exchange something.

 

I really hate to use the wording but your just annoyingly bitchy! use the search button and shut up..... :x
