Here are some possible reasons why your Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 510 is overheating when plugged in but not when using only the battery:

    • The charger is faulty. If the charger is not working properly, it may not be providing enough power to the laptop, which can cause it to overheat.
    • The power adapter is not properly plugged in. Make sure that the power adapter is plugged in securely to both the laptop and the power outlet.
    • The laptop is running too many demanding applications. If you are running a lot of demanding applications at the same time, such as gaming or video editing, the laptop may overheat.
    • The laptop is in a hot environment. If the laptop is in a hot environment, such as a sunny spot or a room with no air conditioning, it may overheat.
    • The fan is not working properly. If the fan is not working properly, it may not be able to cool the laptop down, which can cause it to overheat.
Here are some things you can do to try to fix the problem:

    • Try a different charger. If you have another charger, try using it to see if that fixes the problem.
    • Make sure that the power adapter is plugged in securely. Check the power adapter and the power outlet to make sure that they are plugged in securely.
    • Close any demanding applications. If you are running a lot of demanding applications, close some of them to see if that helps.
    • Move the laptop to a cooler environment. If the laptop is in a hot environment, move it to a cooler place.
    • Clean the fan. If the fan is not working properly, you may need to clean it.
