Hello all, hoping you can help...

I have recently tried and failed to dual boot my A150 with Linux and XP. I keep getting the hal.dll error, and despite following all guides thoroughly - continue to get the error.

A colleague of mine has overwritten Linpus with XP and I think I may end up doing the same but I will probably try the W7 RC (I have the recovery disk on a bootable USB) which requires installation on a NTFS hardrive.

Do I need to format the partition, wiping Linpus and then boot from my W7 USB and install to that partition?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jamo

It is difficult to dual boot Windows with anything unless Windows is the first program on the disk then adding another OS for dual booting is not hard. but Windows has always required it to be the first point on the hard drive and I doubt Windows 7 will be any different.
