    Hi guys,

I've just bought a new Acer Aspire One with Linpus installed. I have wi-fi connected and can browse the web through FireFox, Live Updates has run successfully as well. I want to install some additional software vlc, skype etc but when I load up the Add/Remove Software from the advanced desktop menu it hangs for about 5 minutes then returns:

"Cannot retrieve repository metadata(repomd.xml) for repository: rpmfusion-free-updates. Please verify its path and try again"

In Repository Manager, Mirror List is selected using this url: http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist ... &arch=i386 and under Advanced there is a path to GPG Key file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora

I can access the mirror list above through Firefox? I have several repositories listed in the Manager and regardless of which one is ticked and use they all fail to connect.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've done as suggested and I'm told it's already installed.

I tried rpm -ivh --replacepkgs rpmfusion* which went through ok but still can't connect out? I also get a time out error if I try to download an rpm from the terminal? e.g rpm -ivh http://website.com/pack.rpm

Repository manager hangs while trying to connect but yum repolist returns

rpmfusion-free RPM Fusion for Feora 8 - Free enabled
rpmfusion-free-updat RPM Fusion for Fedora 8 - Free - Updates enabled

I've tried various selections all with the same result

    on my repositories only
rpmfusion-free RPM Fusion for Feora 8 - Free enabled

    try disabling

rpmfusion-free-updat RPM Fusion for Fedora 8 - Free - Updates

.....edit don't bother both selections work on mine. Try disabling both selections for time being and use livna repos instead it may be temporary connection fault.

This happens to me, too, here at home. However, when I visited my parents in another state two weeks ago, it worked fine for the very first time. I was able to use the package manager on their internet connection, as well as at the airport on the airport's wifi system. Now that I'm back home, package manager is unable to retrieve software info again.

The only difference I can figure is that I'm on DSL, my folks are on cable, and the aiport was wifi. I haven't tried going to another wifi here to see if it works yet. But why would this make a difference? All connections were wireless, using wireless modems or wifi.

    Any ideas?

Can you tell me how to do the editing the repository links?

My AA1 gets stuck everytime I go into Package Manager.

    Thanks
