just keep it simple and don't.

those will apply a different desktop environments that are called Gnome and KDE. XFCE is the desktop environment that we are using [i mean bundled with Linpus Lite] and is a lightweight desktop environment. KDE and GNOME are great if you are used to them and are more 'heavy', meaning for a beginner, it could be somehow complicated.

You only need to install any applicatioons you actually want. Find out what you need, and install that: if you try to install the lot you'll have no hard disk left, whatever size of AAO you have!

The instruction on Macles blog may solve the problem. The command provided there needs to be run in a terminal: press ALT-F2 and type 'terminal' in the box, then click run.

those were the dependencies that came with the preinstalled firefox 2, needed by the Acer Communications Suite to run. Did you remove the remove firefox by any chance?

Hello - did YOU get this resolved? I would love to hear from you as I can't see that you have had an answer.

I have small AAO and being new I don't' understand Linux at all, so it's even more worrying that I don't know when there is actually a FAULT (other than my own ignorance)! Everything I try seems not work. Grrrh

Missing Dependency: gecko-libs = 1.8.1.19 is needed by package yelp

    notification-daemon-xfce conflicts with notify-daemon
