Hi, keep your hope till the answer arrives, just writing to join your complains.
I can not understand why if the package manager tries to update what it is supposed to be installed, how could be "missing dependencies". Upgraded once when bought the AAO, with no problem at all, but now have a screen-high list of missing dependencies.
I am keeping linpus because it was tailored to this machine, but it has to many issues unresolved.
No mid point, you could keep the naive "standard user" with poor functionality, or suffer the "advanced mode got-menues -but- do- all- bypassing- them" i dont have time to master linpus just to do an upgrade!. :x

    Meantime, call 0 800 LINPUSUFFERS
    cheers,

One does assume you have updated the fedora repositories, as mentioned in almost every topic that is not about boobies or other spam ;) ?

    Code:
    sudo yum update fedora-release

i updated fedora repositories and got this error after the update:

    notification-daemon-xfce conflicts with notify-daemon
Missing Dependency: gecko-libs = 1.8.1.17 is needed by package yelp

i shouldnt be tampering with any of this because my knowledge of linux is nil, but hopefully someone can tell me if i can fix that.

Don't know if this will help, but something I've noticed is that the software list in pirut includes more than one version of some packages; if there's more than one version of the package you are trying to install, and dependencies break on one, try the other. I suspect some packages get added to the repo when they should in fact replace others.
