I use my Palm Tungsten E2 for work and would like to load the software onto my Aspire One. The program I have is on a CD. Help!

If you have XP on your computer then it should be as easy as putting the CD in and following the Wizard.
If you don't have an external CD thingie then go to a friends house (or wherever) and copy the CD to a FlashDrive (ThumbDrive) and load it from there.

If you have Vista then the Palm Desktop on the CD won't work properly.
See the article from Palm Support about downloading a Palm Desktop that is compatible with Vista.

But first, I would suggest that you have a look through the TE/TE2 forum @ BrightHand they specialize in PDA and SmartPhone help. I have been a member for years and have found no better site for help with your PDA and SmartPhone etc
Any problems you may encounter have almost certainly been solved before or you can join and ask for help if necessary.
You will see by my sig, I own and love a Palm TX :D

Why go through all that? The Acer is WiFi enabled. Simply go to Palms' website and download the latest software for your particular Palm OS. If you use your original CD in an external drive, you will just have to connect to Palm for the latest updates anyway. Install Palm Desktop and do your first HotSync. The rest is the same as it ever was.

I'm not sure what you are suggesting but if you mean the TE2 can be synced to the Acer via wifi then yes this is true but the TE2 requires a wifi card and this is generally not seen as handy or a good investment (better to get a TX)

Yes it is possible to download a Palm Desktop from the Palm site but the version on the CD is considered the best and most 'trouble free' except when dealing with Vista (see my first post)
Also, the CD contains bonus freeware that may be of interest to the user.

Many people make a backup copy of the CD especially since they can't be replaced anymore. Having a copy on an external drive (Hard, Flash or whatever) is convenient, especially with a NetBook, as the user can do a quick un-install/re-install of the Palm Desktop if things go wonky.

It is all discussed in detail at BrightHand :)
