Pardus is a Linux distro that is considered the Ubuntu (in terms of popularity) of Turkey, where it comes from. That said, Pardus has full English support...just that it's a lot more unknown.

Anyways, one of our users tried installing Pardus on the AAO with really good results. Specs and results here http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index ... 34#msg9834 and http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index ... 0#msg10760

    Installation was by safe mode.

Generally speaking everything works OOTB, except for suspend/hibernate and turning off (needs to turn off manually). Details of the problem here: http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index ... pic=2246.0

    This is using the 120GB, 1Gig RAM version http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-One ... AWBFZA9AZR

Anyone else tried Pardus on the AAO? I think it's worth a go. Sorry for linking back to our own forums so much, just easier than typing the details all over again. Also, any ideas at solving the battery issue?

With that big of an issue.... I don't think it qualifies as even remotely near the description of "Generally speaking everything works OOTB" . Will be hard pressed even considering this Distro, unless it's just for testing. But for most that needs a working desktop, this one is on the bottom of the options list. Sorry.
