Helloo, merry christmas and a happy new year!!

    im new on here and i have got a few questions;
    > about the warranty on this laptop, will it void if i change the "wireless card" to a "wireless with bluetooth card" ?
    > will i need to do any case mods for a switch, or will it be software controlled?
    > will i need another antenna for it, or is it built into the card?

thanks for taking the time to read this,
    and thanks in advanced,
    Daniel

As long as you do not damage anything inside you not voiding warranty. Before sending AA1 to service you can always put original card back...
It is software controlled. You have proprietary icon in system tray...
No. It uses Wi-Fi aerials as frequencies are similar.

Thanks for the quick reply!! :)
so its just a simple unscrew, pull out, swap, plug the wireless aerials in, the screw the cover back on?
will software be included, of can i use my existing bluetooth software - Bluesoiel - ?

    thanks again, Daniel

Card swap is easy - just like you thought. Software depends on cards you're buying. I saw cards with or without the CD...

    ahh, right, okay.
are the aerial plugs hard to take off, or do they just un-clip?

    thanks again, Daniel :D

Aerial connector is "U-FL" (try wikipedia) :) It is just clip on connector - it's tiny but works very well...

    Hi Melhiore,

Sorry to hijack, can you recommend a good Wireless N card with Bluetooth built in that would work with the D250?

    Cheers

    Paul :ugeek:

I do not know any N type card with build-in BT unfortunately. If I spot one I will probably share this info in the future... All I have seen and use is N type card with WiMAX...

i think i will get one of these,
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-PCI-E-Wirele ... 3252wt_769
this should fit my 'one' (get it? )
from everything i have read i should just be able to swap without doing anything to the card, as some threads i have read say that i should cover a couple of pins?

anyways, thanks for your help, Melhiore :D
