Not long ago I posted a thread in this section. The topic was if people felt that the new "D" series strayed a bit further from what a netbook should be. I was surprised to see that from the responses I got, many people love the "AoA" series. (btw - I have 2 AOA machines and a new D series machine as well.) But the A Series was much less expensive, just as powerful a machine, more mobile, and more convenient that the new series. It, I believe is a neo-classic of the computer age. And like a classic car (Think Citroen CV2, Volkswagen Beetle, Toyota Corolla, etc...) it deserves to still be manufactured, and perhaps improved a bit with the same price point and the same form factor.

Will you join me then in adding your name to a list of users who do not want the Acer Aspire One AOA discontinued?

Thanks. Enjoy your AOA. May it live on in some form for a long time to come!

You don't need a petition. Acer is still manufacturing 8.9" netbook.

    It's like notebook, there's 13.3, 14.1, 15.4. 17, ..etc

There's 8.9, 10.1, 11.1,12.1"netbook. It gives more choices for people and increase competitiion which is better.

I'm not against such a request but I think the statement "the A series was much less expensive" is off the mark. I paid $329.00 for my A series and $328.00 for my D series.

Wow you did well! But my reasoning is that the price of an AOA150 would be about $250 these days. They can be had for $309 Canadian if you know where to look.

A $250 AOA150 makes sense and will sell a ton of netbooks.

Canadian get cheaper stuff than people from from US. We can easily get AOA 150 with 160GB HDD for $230. I've seen AOD150 for $230 as well.
