    Hi

Been having trouble installing xp on my Acer One, just hangs on Windows startup when installing (see other post). I fully understand the process and thought i woud try another pc instead of my xp one.

I tried a Vista pc but after formatting with PeToUSB it will not allow me to go any further as it states the USB needs to be FAT32 or NTFS ?

I have checked the USB and it was FAT. BUT when i also checked with my xp pc that was also FAT but allows me too proceed ??

The stick is generic 2G so should be ok.

Any thoughts on this ? COuld this be my problem ??

If anyone could check their USB stick to see what it is formattted to after using PeToUSB i would be gratefull.

    Cheers

Try turning off UAC in Vista and then do the whole process again. Wil probably solve the problem (it did in my case).
