Forgive my ignorance (I am not nearly as skilled as most in the hacks/mods forums), but in order to install Pidgin on Linpus Lite, is it necessary to remove the default messenger?

If anyone knows how to install Pidgin, do tell, as I have been scouring the internet, and haven't found any direct instructions.

    Thanks,

If you have a valid Fedora 8 repo enabled, then
    Code:
    sudo yum check-update
    sudo yum install pidgin

in a terminal window should do it. You shouldn't have to remove the default messenger. The only potential problem (and it could be a big one) I can foresee is that this may require replacing some of the customized Linpus components with standard Fedora components, breaking Linpus in unexpected ways in the process. Be especially careful if yum wants to upgrade some of the Linpus components.
