I was looking around for ideas to improve on webbrowsing on Mac OS on the Acer including trying to hack firefox to automatically hide the dock and menu bar on running ( http://www.macworld.com/article/55321/2 ... nubar.html - didn't work too well, it would still leave a space where the dock was. ) I found Plainview and it seems to work pretty well so far. You can show / hide url bars, bookmark bars . When everything is out of the way, it's pretty much just the web page.

    Here is the URL

You can check it out here. http://www.barbariangroup.com/software/ ... ew_app_1_0

Looks interesting, but much like I don't like having to keep in sync multiple browsers on any platform, or finding one works better with one site, and not another, I prefer to keep to Safari, with the Saft extension.

Full screen pushes everything out of the way, and even on the Aspire I have enough real estate to do what I need without the toolbars/tab bar getting in the way.

I could see Plainview being really useful to use the web as a presentation tool though.

Yeah, I ended up getting Saft + Safari as well. I still really wish they would have more 1280x768 Netbooks, but in the meantime, fullscreen browsing is a must
