I accidentally spilled water on my Acer Aspire One laptop. After it dried out, everything was fine, except the keyboard was shorting out... if any 2 keys were pressed at the same time (such as "shift" + a letter), the screen goes black, and the computer freezes permanently until I hard reboot it.

The short also happens, even in the boot menus, or while booting up... the screen goes fully black, and the whole thing freezes.

I took apart the keyboard, trying to clean it, and wound up destroying it. Lol. So I ordered a brand new replacement keyboard. When I installed it - properly, mind you - the same short was still happening. So chances are, my original keyboard was still fine before I tore it apart.

When I use a USB keyboard, everything works perfectly - the short only effects a built-in aspire keyboard. The mouse touchpad still works perfectly, as well.

Does anyone have any ideas whatsoever on how to fix this short, or what could be causing it, what it actually is, so that I can install and use my new keyboard?

Thanks for any and all help.
